Eng. Abdulrahman AlFadley holds a Chemical Engineering degree from King Saud University and became Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in 2015. Prior to this, he was CEO of Almarai from 2000 to 2015, after 13 years in the petroleum industry. He chaired several organizations, including International Dairy and Juice Limited and the Dairy and Food Polytechnic.
As Minister, he oversees numerous entities, such as the General Food Security Authority and the National Water Company. AlFadley has extensive experience in operations, project management, and investments, and is committed to corporate social responsibility, Saudization, and agricultural development.
The World Water Council catalyzes collective action during and in between each World Water Forum - the world's largest event on water. Organized every three years with a host country, the Forum provides a unique platform where the water community and key decision makers can collaborate and make long-term progress on global water challenges.
The Forum brings together participants from all levels and areas, including politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society and the private sector, among others. Over the years, the number of people participating in the Forum has grown from a few hundred to tens of thousands, from both the international community and host countries.
Building on this momentum, the Council encourages you to join the Forum's efforts and strengthens the ability of the entire world to respond to water related challenges of our times.
The journey to the next World Water Forum begins with a kickoff and stakeholders meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on April 14-15. This key event will shape the Forum's agenda and drive collaboration on global water challenges.
